Disaster Management Preparedness: NDRF Conducts Training for RRT Members in Karulai Grama Panchayat

Ahead of the heavy monsoon season, a special training program was organized for the Rapid Response Team (RRT) members of Karulai Grama Panchayat as part of disaster management preparedness. A expert team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) led the training session.
The training program was inaugurated by Karulai Grama Panchayat President, Sheeja Kandangapuram. She noted that the active participation of RRT members, who need to respond promptly at the local level during natural disasters and other emergencies, is highly crucial. Grama Panchayat Vice President, Usman E.K., presided over the function.
The NDRF team provided practical training to the members on primary safety measures to be taken during natural disasters, modern methods of rescue operations, and first-aid techniques.
Various ward members, the block panchayat member, forest officials, representatives of various political parties, and youth club members attended the event. The participants testified that such training sessions are immensely helpful in saving lives and minimizing damages during disasters.
